The Studio by AFTS is a hybrid creative workspace rooted in AFTS's mission of accessibility, cultural activation, and community. Whether you're a freelancer looking for a focused place to work, an artist who needs dedicated production space, or someone who just wants to make something with their hands — The Studio was designed with you in mind.
Located in downtown Springfield, MA, The Studio brings the energy of a big-city creative hub to our community, with flexible access options that meet you where you are.

Shared Artist Studio
Dedicated studio space for makers and hands-on practitioners — includes personal locker storage for your tools, materials, and works-in-progress.

Guests may book communal drop-in sessions at a discounted rate. You will have access to a communal table in our shared space.
7x7 workspace access is available to all members, with Flex and Resident members receiving priority access. Day Pass members are welcome to use available spaces on a day-use basis. All shared workspace users are required to fully clear their space at the end of each session. Monthly locker access is included for Flex and Resident members, while Day Pass members may use available day-use lockers on a first-come, first-served basis.
PRIVATE RESERVATIONs
Book our co-working space privately for your next meeting, workshop, or event. With a comfortable capacity of 25 people, the space is exclusively yours for a Half Day or Full Day, Monday through Friday. Weekend availability upon request.

What is The Studio by AFTS? The Studio is a creative workspace operated by AFTS in downtown Springfield. It combines co-working, an artist production studio, and a monthly Art Café into one accessible, community-focused space.
Who is The Studio for? The Studio is for anyone who creates — freelancers, remote workers, visual artists, makers, crafters, and curious people looking to try something new.
Do I need a membership to visit? No. Day Passes are available for both the co-working space and the artist studio. Memberships are ideal if you plan to visit regularly or want guaranteed access and locker storage.
How do I book studio time? All reservations are made through our website. Availability is updated in real time so you always know what's open.
What is the Art Café / Makers Night? Once a month on a Saturday, The Studio transforms into an Art Café experience. Guests sign up for guided creative sessions — from ceramic painting to linocut printmaking — in a relaxed, social setting. Experiences start at $28 per person.
When do you open? We're in the final stages of preparation and will announce our opening date soon. Join the waitlist to be the first to know and get early access to founding member pricing.
Can I rent the space for a private event? Yes, on a limited basis. Private full-day rentals are available when no other reservations exist for that date. Inquire through the website or give us a call.
