The Studio by AFTS is a hybrid creative workspace rooted in AFTS's mission of accessibility, cultural activation, and community. Whether you're a freelancer looking for a focused place to work, an artist who needs dedicated production space, or someone who just wants to make something with their hands — The Studio was designed with you in mind.
Located in downtown Springfield, MA, The Studio brings the energy of a big-city creative hub to our community, with flexible access options that meet you where you are.

Discounted Parking Pass
Guests may book communal drop-in sessions at a discounted rate. You will have access to a communal table in our shared space.
7x7 workspace access is available to all members, with Flex & Unlimited members receiving priority access. Day Pass members are welcome to use available spaces on a day-use basis. All shared workspace users are required to fully clear their space at the end of each session. Monthly locker access is included for Flex & Unlimited members, while Day Pass members may use available day-use lockers on a first-come, first-served basis.
PRIVATE RESERVATIONs
Book our space privately for your next meeting, workshop, or event. With a comfortable capacity of 35 people, the space is exclusively yours for a Half Day or Full Day, Monday through Friday. Weekend availability upon request. View our full rate sheet here. *Pricing varies based on usage.

What is The Studio by AFTS? The Studio is a creative workspace operated by AFTS in downtown Springfield. It combines co-working, an artist production studio, and a monthly Creative Studio into one accessible, community-focused space.
Who is The Studio for? The Studio is for anyone who creates — freelancers, remote workers, visual artists, makers, crafters, and curious people looking to try something new.
Do I need a membership to visit? No. Day Passes are available for both the co-working space and the artist studio. Memberships are ideal if you plan to visit regularly or want guaranteed access and locker storage.
How do I book studio time? All reservations are made through our website. Availability is updated in real time so you always know what's open. Call or email if you have any questions.
What is the Creative Studio / Makers Night? Once a month on a Saturday, The Studio transforms into an Creative Studio experience. Guests sign up for self-guided creative sessions — from ceramic painting to linocut printmaking — in a relaxed, social setting. Experiences start at $25 per person.
When do you open? We're in the final stages of preparation and will announce our opening date soon. Join the waitlist to be the first to know and get early access to founding member pricing.
Can I rent the space for a private event? Yes, on a limited basis. Private full-day and half-day rentals are available when no other reservations exist for that date. Inquire through the website or give us a call.
Why is there a fee to rent the space? As a nonprofit, AFTS Gallery relies on earned revenue to sustain our operations and programming. Rental fees allow us to keep our gallery and community programs free and accessible to everyone.
Where does my payment go? All proceeds from the utilization of The Studio and AFTS Gallery are reinvested directly into our organization. Your payment supports operational costs, exhibitions, free community events, workshops, workforce development, and more.
Am I just paying for a space? You're doing much more than that. When you rent from us you're investing in Springfield's Cultural District and helping sustain a space that uplifts underrepresented artists and serves the broader community.
Is my rental fee tax deductible? Rental fees are not tax deductible as a charitable contribution since you are receiving a service in return. However if you choose to make an additional donation above your rental fee that portion may be tax deductible.
How do I know my money is being used responsibly? AFTS Gallery is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit and files annual financial reports with the IRS. We are committed to transparency and accountability in how we steward community resources.
